The Inner Workings Of A Turbocharger

The Switchblade Turbo Performs Like Two Turbos in One!

Eliminating Turbo Lag

On take-off, the internal valve is closed, reducing the A/R ratio and pinching the exhaust flow down to the smaller end of the turbine housing scroll so it impacts the turbine wheel with more force at lower engine RPMs. This eliminates turbo lag, allowing for quicker spool-up.

More Boost Pressure

As the boost pressure increases, the vane opens up, allowing more exhaust gas to access the volute shot and impact more of the turbine wheel circumference. The result is more boost pressure and great power at the top end.

The dynamic movement of the vane lets us maximize efficiency at the low end during takeoff and at the top end at speed, resulting in much quicker spool-up AND better top-end performance.
